Barrington firefighters help battle blaze that destroys Haddon Twp. home

“A two-alarm fire destroyed a home at 18 Cedar Ave. on Saturday afternoon.

“The blaze broke out about 2:45 p.m. in the back of the two-story dwelling, officials said. The Camden County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze, but an official at the scene Saturday said he believes it started on the outside of the house.

” “It’s looking to be an exterior fire,” said Capt. Frank Jackson of the Westmont Fire Department. “There was heavy fire, but just on the back side. As you can see, it really burned up the back.”

“There were no injuries reported.

“In addition to Westmont, firefighters from Audubon, Barrington, Collingswood and Haddon Heights responded. It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, officials said.”
