Winning lottery ticket sold in neighboring Magnolia

A Powerball ticket worth $40,000 was sold at the One Stop Shoppe in Barrington neighbor Magnolia, according to New Jersey Lottery.

The ticket was a third-prize ticket, meaning it matched four of the five balls plus the powerball. The prize would normally be worth $10,000, but the purchaser had selected the “Power Play” option, multiplying their winnings to $40,000.

According to the Powerball website, the odds of hitting for the third-prize are 1 in 648,975.96.

The ticket — which won on the May 2 drawing — was purchased at the One Stop Shoppe at 103 N.E. Atlantic Avenue in Magnolia, according to New Jersey Lottery.
