The most complete and most convenient source for news and information about the borough of Barrington, N.J.
You may remember the Barrington Bulletin report on borough youngster Casey Umba and his family’s effort to get enough votes to win a free wheelchair accessible vehicle (“Barrington mom seeks help for son with extremely rare genetic disorder,” May 3).
The Courier-Post this week offered a follow-up to that story:
Casey Umba is an 8-year-old boy who lives in Barrington. Like most children, he is a happy young man, always smiling, and comes from a loving family.
But that’s where the similarities end.
Casey was born with a rare disorder known as Chromosome 8p Syndrome. There are only about 15 known cases of the disorder around the world, and it has no cure.
