The National Weather Service has declared a Hazardous Weather Outlook and an Excessive Heat Watch for Wednesday afternoon through late Thursday night, when temperature are expected to reach nearly 100 degrees.
The warnings are in place for all of Camden County, as well as Gloucester County, northwestern Burlington County, Philadelphia and surrounding areas.
In addition to heat index around 100 during the day Thursday, it may only fall to the upper-70s on Wednesday and Thursday nights, according to the weather service.

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH MEANS THAT A PROLONGED PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS POSSIBLE. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY MAY COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE. UNDER SUCH CONDITIONS...IT IS WISE TO DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS...STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM...STAY OUT OF THE SUN...AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS. THE VERY OLD...VERY YOUNG AND INFIRM ARE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE HEAT. ALSO...TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK...THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS.
