Excessive heat watch issued for Friday-Sunday

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Excessive Heat Watch for Barrington and the surrounding region from Friday through Sunday.

According to the warning, heat index values around 100 degrees are expected each of those three afternoons, with actual temperatures in the mid- to upper-90s.

The lowest temperature between Thursday evening and Tuesday morning is expected to be in the low-70s.

According to the National Weather Service alert:

AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH MEANS THAT A
PROLONGED PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES
IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT
TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL
COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION
IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE.
DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS... STAY IN AN
AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM... STAY OUT OF
THE SUN... AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES
AND NEIGHBORS.
