After a strong run to the semi-finals of the under-12 Little League Majors tournament, Barrington was eliminated Monday night in a 12-11 loss to Blackwood.
Barrington had defeated Blackwood 14-4 on July 2 in Barrington, sending Blackwood to the elimination bracket of the double-elimination tournament. Blackwood then got past Stratford and Haddon Heights to make it to the final three in the tournament.
Barrington, meanwhile, lost a tough game to defending champion Erial on Saturday, sending the team to the elimination bracket. This second loss, to Blackwood, ends the tournament for Barrington. Blackwood will face Erial tonight in Erial with the title on the line. If Blackwood upsets Erial, a final game between the two will be played tomorrow in Erial.
Barrington ends the tournament in third place, compiling wins against Stratford, Audubon and Blackwood before falling to undefeated Erial and Blackwood. The team scored 45 runs in the five games and gave up just 29.
