The regular registration period for Barrington Little League baseball, Barrington soccer and Haddon Heights youth football are scheduled to end soon.
Barrington Little League baseball registration runs through Aug. 5. Practice is scheduled to begin Aug. 17, with games starting in early September and running as late as the end of October.
The $75 fee covers shirt and hat, registration fees with Little League Baseball and umpires. Players will be split into 12-and-under (Majors), 10-and-under (A Minor) and 8-and-under (coach pitch) teams.
The league website notes the baseball program is designed to not interfere with other popular fall sports and that most games will take place on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday nights with two games per week.
Barrington fall soccer registration costs $65 for the “Mini” program or $85 for the “Town Soccer” or “Friendship” program provided registration is completed by the end of August. Registration in September will be subject to a $15 late fee.
The Mini program is for ages 4 and 5 to teach the fundamentals of soccer. The Town Soccer program is for ages 6-10 with specific age brackets based on enrollment, allowing the children to develop an increased understanding of teamwork while building on the basics. The Friendship program is for ages 11-15 and is designed for players interested in continuing to play but not moving on to the Barrington travel teams.
The fee covers shirt, shorts and socks for all players.
Garnet Youth Football will begin practice three or four nights per week on Aug. 6, but is still accepting registration at a cost of $125.
The fee covers equipment including a personalized game jersey. Teams are broken up into freshman (ages 5 and 6), sophomores (ages 7-9), juniors (ages 10 and 11) and seniors (ages 12-14). The team plays as part of the Tri-County Midget Football League.
