School board to officially accept resignation of board president tonight

After many months of Barrington Board of Education President Andrew Wood bringing the monthly school board meeting to order, the role will be taken over by board Vice President Michael Drumm tonight.

Superintendent Anthony Arcodia announced during last month’s meeting that it would be the final one for Wood, who was moving out of the state for a new job. The board will officially accept Wood’s resignation during tonight’s meeting, according to the board agenda.

In addition, tonight’s meeting will include discussion of:

  • The 2012-13 Barrington School District Student/Parents Handbook.
  • Approve the District Improvement Plan (DIP), detailing the district’s strategies for improvement in the area for Instruction and Program based upon the QSAC district performance review.
  • Hiring of two long-term substitute teachers.
  • Hiring a third-grade teacher, Kimberly Moonen.
  • and more.

There is no executive session scheduled for tonight’s meeting, which is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
