After adult arrests numbering in the 20s every month this year but one, Barrington police had to make only 11 arrests in August, according to the report presented to the borough council this week.
August also showed a marked drop in the number of arrests made for possession of controlled dangerous substances. Police made nine drug-possession arrests in July — as many as had been made in February, March, April and May combined. Only one such arrest was made in August.
