A 39-year-old Camden County man who was hospitalized for three days but has been released is the fifth case of West Nile Virus in the county this year, according to a news release.
The man’s exposure to the mosquito-borne virus is believed to have occurred at his home, but the state has not yet released which community he lives in. Previous locations of confirmed Camden County West Nile cases this year have been in Collingswood and the city of Camden.
A 77-year-old man in Burlington County is the only fatal case of West Nile reported this year in New Jersey.
The Camden County Mosquito Commission sprayed in parts of Barrington on Sept. 19 but has not announced any further spray schedule.
