Barrington netted $44,473.12 through New Jersey’s Recycling Tonnage Grants program, according to state Sen. Donald Norcross.
The funds — awarded to municipalities and counties in order to increase their recycling activities and reduce their disposal — were awarded for recycling in 2010, according to Norcross.
Barrington’s $44,473 was the second highest total of the 17 communities represented by Norcross. Only Deptford had a higher total, $60,694.18.
