Haddon Heights boys soccer advances to state title game

It took regulation time, two overtimes and a shootout to decide the winner, but the Haddon Heights High School boys soccer team (18-3-3) finally bested South River (19-3-3) Wednesday night at St. Augustine.

Haddon Heights goalkeeper Jon Weaver scored the final shootout goal to give his team the 5-4 shootout victory after stopping the third penalty kick attempt by South River, according to a report.

The teams were knotted at 2-2 after regulation and extra time.

Haddon Heights will now move on to face  Harrison in the state championship game at 10 a.m. Saturday at the College of New Jersey.
