For its annual Freedom Medal — an honor given to citizens who work to continue the dream of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. dream to create a more just and loving community — Camden County will recognize William J. Patten of Barrington, among others.
“The medal is awarded to citizens of Camden County for contributing to the betterment of their community through their unselfish dedication of time and talent, beyond their normal professional activities,” according to the county website.
Patten was nominated by Councilwoman Maureen Bergeron. Twenty other county residents also will be recognized during a ceremony Jan. 25 at the Camden County Boathouse on Cooper River.
