The National Weather Service‘s seven-day forecast suggests Barrington might see a high temperature of 33 degrees Sunday — and the region will blast past that with a high of 40 Monday.
But until the region warms somewhat next week, temperatures are expected to only reach highs in the 20s and overnight lows as frigid as 12 degrees (tonight). The wind chill tonight may be as low as -1.
“An arctic air mass is invading the Midwest and parts of the eastern U.S., bringing with it the coldest air so far this season for many locations,” the weather service states.
The weather service also is calling for a chance of snow flurries and showers Wednesday before a 70 percent chance of snow Friday, starting after 1 p.m.
