The legal tab continues to rise for Rep. Rob Andrews as the longtime legislator fights a complaint before the House Ethics Committee.
Andrews, a Haddon Heights Democrat, paid about $47,000 in campaign funds to a high-powered Washington, D.C., law firm between July and November of last year, according to a new filing with the Federal Elections Commission.
Andrews’ campaign now has paid about $157,000 to Brand Law Group, which specializes in representing people under investigation by Congress. The congressman also has repaid some $30,000 in campaign funds that were used for a family trip to Scotland, an excursion that triggered his ethics woes.
Andrews has denied any wrongdoing.
