The outpouring of sympathy for Raquel Nunn of Haddon Heights has been swift and strong.
Just more than a week after a massive natural gas explosion blew her out of her apartment and destroyed the multi-unit dwelling, friends and neighbors from the region have donated more than $7,600 to the “Giving Forward” campaign in her name.
The campaign is aiming to raise $10,000 for the woman, still hospitalized at Crozer Chester Medical Center, who lost virtually all of her possessions in the blast.
Donors also may drop off gifts for Nunn at Ott’s Greentop in West Berlin, where Nunn worked. The establishment will continue to run benefits for Nunn every Thursday in March. Donations also may be left at Mindy’s Place salon at 904 Kings Highway in Haddon Heights, including clothing (shirt size medium; pants 3/5 or medium; shoe size 8).
Efforts also are continuing to locate Nunn’s cat, Leo, last seen before the explosion. Reports on those efforts — and updates on Nunn’s condition — can be found at the Recovery for Raquel Facebook page.
