Haddon Heights blast update: Campaign for victim passes $10,000

The “Giving Forward” campaign for Raquel Nunn, the woman seriously injured in a Feb. 23 natural gas explosion in Haddon Heights, has passed its initial goal of $10,000, according to the site.

The $10,000 mark was the initial goal for the campaign, but as her hospital stay continues, donations still are being accepted.

Donations also may be left at Ott’s Greentop in Berlin and at Mindy’s Place salon at 904 Kings Highway in Haddon Heights. However, Ott’s will not be conducting fundraisers throughout March, as initially stated here and by other news outlets.

“Just want to clear up any confusion due to recent posts and inaccurate information: Otts In Berlin WILL NOT be hosting benefits on Thursdays throughout the month of March for Raquel any longer,” reads an announcement on the Recovery for Raquel Facebook page. “Other benefits and fundraisers are in the works and will be posted as that information becomes available. Sorry for any inconvienence this may have caused.”

The Facebook page also announced this week that Nunn’s cat, Leo, has been found. Leo was missing since the day of the blast and was found with “some burns on his paws and some hair … burned off,” but otherwise in good health. The page also notes expenses for the cat’s treatment were covered by the vet.
