In honor of the men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States of America, Camden County and Barrington officials will conduct Memorial Day ceremonies this weekend.
“Please join us as we honor our nation’s heroes and have a special ceremony for those heroes from Camden County who sacrificed all in the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Deputy Freeholder Director Edward T. McDonnell, liaison to the County’s Office of Veterans Affairs, said in a release. “We will also be honoring their families, who lost their loved ones in the cause of freedom.”

The Barrington ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at borough hall. The Barrington Band will play selections before an assembly at 9:45 a.m and services at 10 a.m.
The ceremony will include a guest speaker, Sgt. Tom Grosmick, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2002 to 2010, according to a release. During his time as a Marine in the infantry division, he did two tours of duty in Iraq. He now works as an officer with the Camden County Department of Corrections.
