22 adults arrested in Barrington in April

The Barrington Police Department answered 653 calls and 144 complaints during March, according to the monthly report delivered to the borough council this month.

Police-car-lightsAmong the crime reported in the month were a sexual assault, two residential burglaries, five possession of controlled dangerous substances and one theft of a motor vehicle.

Overall, police arrested 22 adults and issued 936 traffic summonses.

In comparison, the department made 18 arrests and issued 135 traffic summonses while answering 492 calls and 136 complaints last April.

Among the calls answered and arrests made last month were

  • 1 sexual assault
  • 5 possession of a controlled dangerous substance (drugs)
  • 3 theft
  • 2 burglary (residential)
  • 2 obstruction of justice
  • 1 defiant trespass
  • 1 theft of a motor vehicle
  • 1 resisting arrest
  • 1 missing person
  • 1 driving while suspended – DUI
