New Barrington Police Chief Dave Roberts said he would work to ensure the public had more information about police and criminal activity in the borough. In order to do so, the department provided the following information, which the Bulletin will publish on a monthly basis:
— 08/02/2013: Motor Vehicle stop at Route 30 and Copley Road for an expired registration and tail light out resulted in arrest for both driver and passenger for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
— 08/04/2013: Pedestrian stop on the 200 block of Hutchinson Avenue resulted in arrest for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and an outstanding warrant.
— 08/05/2013: A call for service regarding a person not acting right at the Barrington Mews on the fourth floor of the 200 building resulted in an arrest for the possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
— 08/06/2013: An attempted burglary was reported where subject(s) broke out a window and attempted to pry open a door to a residence located on the 900 block of Davis Road.
— 08/10/2013: Motor vehicle stop in the 300 block of Route 30 for a fraudulent inspection sticker resulted in the criminal arrest of the driver for operating a motor vehicle during a period of license suspension, hindering his own apprehension, and obstructing the administration of law. Driver was issued several motor vehicle summons and had two active warrants from other jurisdictions.
— 08/13/2013: Pedestrian stop of three males and a female in 1300 block of Hancock Drive resulted in the arrest of two of the males. One male was arrested for an active warrant and possession of heroin. The second male was arrested for possession of marijuana.
— 08/16/2013: A call for service involving a motor vehicle accident on the 300 block of Route 30 resulted in the arrest of a male passenger in one of the cars for possession of crack cocaine and being criminally charged for obstructing the administration of law and hindering the apprehension of another.
— 08/18/2013: Pedestrian stop of a male and female outside of 1206 building of the Willows Apartment Complex resulted in the arrest of the male for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female was arrested for obstructing the administration of law.
— 08/24/2013: A motor vehicle was stolen from the 900 block of Lenton Avenue. The van was subsequently located by Camden County Sheriff’s Dept. in Camden and was processed by Barrington Police Department. The processing of the van yielded fingerprints which were collected and identified. The male responsible for the theft was charged.
