Haddonfield, Collingswood named to top 10 best downtowns list
According to the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, it takes “walkability,” a good civic anchor and nice, wide sidewalks.
Haddonfield and Collingswood were recently ranked among the top 10 Best Suburban Downtowns in the Greater Philadelphia area, based on a study by the DVRPC.
The study, “Revitalizing Suburban Downtown Retail Districts,” identified 71 business districts located in the Greater Philadelphia area and outlined the common retail characteristics that make up a successful downtown retail district.

Police: Lawnside man arrested for shooting teenager in the face
A Lawnside man has been arrested for allegedly shooting in the face a teenage acquaintance who had just helped him move.
Camden County police allege Christopher Love, 24, shot his victim Dec. 7 while robbing him at the intersection of 10th and Liberty streets in Camden’s Gateway section.

Bellmawr man charged in Camden homicide
A Bellmawr man was charged Friday in connection with a Camden homicide over the summer, according to Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson.
Delron Freeman, 30, of the 400 block of Browning Road, was charged Friday with manslaughter in the July 31 killing of Emmanuel Rivera.

Kwanzaa event to take place in Lawnside Dec. 29
A Kwanzaa celebration will take place Dec. 29 at the Wayne Bryant Community Center in Lawnside.
The event, taking place for the 20th year, will occur from 3 to 9 p.m. in the complex at 323 Charleston Ave.
