Single-digit wind chills, 2-4 inches of snow in forecast

“Dangerously cold wind chills,” up to 4 inches of snow and strong winds are expected to hit the region Thursday evening through Friday, according to the latest from the National Weather Service in Mount Holly.

The weather briefing notes the potential for 2 to 4 inches of snow in South Jersey and Philadelphia, with more expected further north in the Poconos and North Jersey.

Furthermore, icy cold is likely to begin to funnel into the region Thursday evening, resulting in near-record cold through Saturday morning.

Wind chills near zero are expected around 7 a.m. Friday when winds near 30 mph are possible, while single-digit temperatures are expected Saturday morning, the briefing states.
